This policy explains what information Episode Gadget ("we", "us") collects when you visit episodegadget.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Analytics. We use a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool (Plausible Analytics) to understand how the site is used. It does not use cookies and does not collect or store personal data; measurements are aggregate (page views, referrers, approximate country, and site events like searches). No cross-site tracking occurs.
- Server logs. Like nearly all websites, our web server may automatically record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting and are routinely deleted.
- Contact messages. If you use the contact form, we store the message and the optional name and email you provide, solely to read and respond to it.
- Episode submissions. If you suggest an episode, we store what you type in the form, including the optional name you provide for credit. Don't include personal information you don't want published.
Cookies and advertising
We may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and certain other regions will be asked for consent before advertising cookies are set, as required by law.
Apart from advertising, this site does not set cookies for tracking. A short-lived session cookie may be used for site functions such as the episode submission form.
Third-party content
Show posters and episode images are loaded from TVmaze's image servers, and "Where to watch" links lead to third-party sites (such as JustWatch). Those services have their own privacy policies, which apply when you interact with them.
How we use information
We use the information described above to operate and improve the site, review episode submissions, prevent abuse, and (where ads are shown) support the site financially. We do not sell personal information.
Data retention
Aggregate analytics are retained to track the site's growth. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security. Approved episode submissions become part of the guide; rejected ones are deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we collect so little, the most common request is removing a submitter name from a published episode. Reach out through the contact form and we'll take care of it.
Children
This site is a general-audience TV guide and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
